How excited are we right now?!? Our goods are now taking up residence in one of the coolest Bike stores in Spain! La Urbana Bike, situated in Vigo, Pontevedra.
We came across this store on Instagram, its super cool interior instantly grabbing our attention. We really liked their window displays and merchandising and the way they pitch their products. The fact they stock Sideburn Magazine was a great endorsement too!
Officially opened in March 2015, Daniel Salvadores and his partner Beatriz have been on a journey with this store. Here is their story and a nice one it is too....
"La Urbana Bike was born in early 2014. It all began with the idea of offering in one place cool motorcycle gear and apparel that was hard to find in our area, or even in Spain. My partner Beatriz and I opened then a small store in our house garage, and also started running the on-line store laurbanabike.com. The response from the customers and visitors was good enough to encourage us to move to a bigger, better located store. Sales at the store and on-line helped too!
As a result, in March 2015 we opened the new La Urbana Bike!
Almost by chance we stumbled across the space, a hidden gem, an old linen shop called Dicks which had been closed for 10 years. The interior of which had been intact since the 70's!
The idea of the new store is not only about shopping, but also hosting events, offering a place to have a beer or coffee while reading Sideburn and other independent magazines or books, or just have a bike talk. We have also organized some events like The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride in our city or a classic dirt track race, Dirt Track del Rosario. In addition, we are fortunate that one of the most internationally recognized bike manufacturers, El Solitario, also has their workshop near Vigo.
We are also collaborating with some artists in our journey. The illustration for our latest T-shirt has been made by Emilio Cabanas, @cabanaem."
The future looks bright! Furthermore, they had this to say about us...
"We are so proud to offer 250london products at our store. Ours is a small city, but there is a great petrol culture, and you can see a lot of motorcycles parked everywere. There are also several classic bike collectors and a growing Custom Motorcycle scene around here. I think 250London will fit perfectly into that target."
Well, we're happy to be there! Have a look through the gallery to see why this awesome store is so special. And if you're ever in Vigo...
