We travelled way North for the Steel City DH event for the second year running and we had a blast! Again. Take our word for it, it’s a cracking event! It’s well organised, the atmosphere is fab, everyone’s in a good mood and the racing is awesome! Both our DH Team riders, Jonny Oddy and Pasca Nicholson, took the plunge and entered for the first time. They had a good time. Here’s the lowdown….
PASCA
Pasca had an interesting start to the weekend, realising she’d arrived with a broken bike which couldn’t be fixed on the day. We set about asking around to borrow one and, like angels appearing out of the mist, the guys from Trek Bicycle Fox Valley Sheffield came up trumps and even offered her a choice! They were absolute lifesavers and meant Pasca could go ride and race. She finished 12th in the end, not bad on a borrowed bike!

“I really enjoyed Steel City. It was such a laugh, really chilled, loads of good mates were there, really chilled. It was good hanging out with the guys from 250 and feeling part of the Team. So grateful to guys from Trek as well, they saved the day! ”
JONNY
Our Jonny had a good time despite racing the Pro Men’s category because the Senior Men’s category was full!!
Jonny had this to say about his day…
“20th against all the Pros wasn’t bad, felt like I rode fast even though I only managed 2 full practice runs. The track was fun but very pedally! Felt good knowing I stood out in my 250 kit.”
All in all a great event, it was a good laugh and definitely worth the trip up North! We’re also grateful to everyone who dropped by the 250 stand and bought stuff. See you all again next year. Here’s a few more pics…
