Our MX Team Rider, Kayleigh Durston, did us all proud at Rnd 2 of the British Womens Motocross Asscociation Series. She came 5th overall, gaining a place on Rnd 1. Competition is tough in the series so it’s always great to Kayleigh’s enthusiasm for Motocross shine through at each event but she’s an awesome rider and fighting for a top 10 ProClass Championship place with just two more rounds to decide!
Kayleigh gave us the lowdown on her day…
“It was a really good weekend. I qualified 6th with only a few seconds off 5th & 4th. First race I managed to get the Holeshot which I haven’t done in a while so I was feeling good on the third lap I made a mistake which resulted in me falling back to 6th. After the mistake I regrouped and was battling with 5th & 4th the whole race and there was only 2 seconds between the 3 of us by the end of the race.
Race 2 I didn’t get a great jump of the gate and was around 6th out of the first corner I quickly made 2 passes to take 4th place and was closing down 3rd place in the closing minutes of the race. The third race was cancelled due to accidents throughout the day however despite only having 2 races I finished 5th overall which is what I was aiming for this year.
Really pleased with my riding this weekend and looking forward to round 3 on the 1st June.”
Good work Kayleigh, we’re proud of you and well done on the Holeshot! Catch Kayleigh at Rnd 3 of the Series at Fatcats on 1st June! In the meantime, give Kayleigh a follow on her Instagram!
